The end is near

Well it's been a stressful day, nearly over at least. Going to write up this quick blog and then get started on a 2000 essay on Software Project Management (so booooring) due in friday. Well today it's been alright. Had a meeting with tutor today about our group project and SURPRIZINGLY he seemed ok about it. He told us that he could see 1 of 2 possible outcomes for our team. 1) we pass with reasonable marks 2) we fail completely. Probably does help we've had a technical problem that we've been unable to solve since October ... believe me we've tried we've decided we're going to ask one of the lvl 3 students to help us with it ... just got to find one first. After the session he came along and we talked (or rather he talked and i was thinking oh god shut up and let me go) to me about martial arts ... he even said "robin is probably learning martial arts so he can break his personal tutor's neck" (meaning him) at which i was thinking don't tempt me. THAT is how much i hate him. Again i wouldn't ... but i can dream.

Anyway I have also finished one of my modules today. Had an exam for it and quite frankly i was pooping myself over it because i had only managed to get through half of the material i had needed to get through for it with one hour before the exam. Luckily all the stuff i revised in that hour didn't really come up. It was all questions like explain this very simple piece of code or describe what this diagram means. Ok there were a few questions i wasn't certain of but since it was all multiple choice there is a 1/4 chance that i've got them right ... pure dumb luck if i have.

So my plans for the rest of this week are to get this essay written up for thursday morning since it needs to go through some wierd thing that checks for plagerism and if you don't actually hand in the proof that you've done this your mark automattically gets capped at 40% even if it's the best essay in the world. Kinda depressing really.

Anyway if i dont start this essay now i'm never gonna get it done on time. Sooooo until next time. Chiao

Sorry...

I know i have been a long time in posting heh must be a record. Anyway life with me is pretty boring at the moment. Not been doing that much lately ... but then again i've been in no shape to actually do anything since i've torn the ligaments in my ankle.

Well if i havent already told you you're probably wondering how i did this. I did this by trying to catch a train and jumping one too many steps when the train was at the station ... probably wouldn't help that i'd have a couple of pints beforehand though.

Now it's pretty ironic since i do aikido that you'd have thought i'd have done it through that not catching a train. Anyway i'm on crutches for the next 6 weeks.

In other news i bought FF12 the other week and since i've had so much coursework on my hands that i've not had that much time to play it. It's really annoying me since it's right in front of me most the time and i just dont have enough hours in the day.

One thing that has really annoyed me recently is while doing a group project for a client in uni my group totally let me down. Well not the entire group just one member. We have to design a knowledge based system to diagnose problems with horses through physio therapy. Wel anyway apart from the workload being absolutely rediculous i did my share of the work and i asked this group member to teach the rest of the group how to work the program we were using and get as much done as possible cause i knew it wouldn't get done on time. In fact we dont even think our tutor read through the invitation tot ender before he gave it to us. Well anyway this group memeber said he would do this for me and i find out on the actual day that the work s due that he's done absolutely nothing. When i asked anoter group memeber whether he had taught them how to use the system they hadn't even heard of the idea being mentioned. So as you can imagine i'm not ver impressed with him. Our tutor said to us basically "You're all going to fail this module now get lost" (in a polite nutshell). I'm just thankful that I wasn't in with a badly hurt ankle (torn ligaments)

Mind you everyone on my course hates this guy. He's just not a very nice man (putting it very politely). He uses bullying techniques to try and get us to do things. Quite frankly nearly everyone on our course is either thinking of dropping out or is dropping out, because of him. Most of them say they just want to smack him one ... so tempting i wont but it's so tempting at times.

Anyway that's pretty much every that's happened to me recently that's worth talking about.
Til next time
